The Library Director
Susan Cooley moved to Rome, GA in 1988 immediately after graduating with a degree in Library Science from Emporia (KS) State University. She was hired by the Rome-Floyd County Library in August of 1988 to enter catalog records destined for the new automated Dynix catalog. Soon after, she was lucky enough to be selected for a full-time position in the Circulation Department. In 1991, she was named Circulation Coordinator, then Associate Director in 1995. She became the Director of the Sara Hightower Regional Library System in 1996. Although she doesn't have any time to enjoy them, her other interests include walking long distances, hiking, sewing, baking, and of course...reading.
